Analyst, Principal Investments

The analyst will be working in the acquisitions group and will be exposed to a diverse range of real estate investment opportunities. Responsibilities include screening potential investments relative to the fund’s investment criteria; extensive financial modeling and analysis utilizing both Excel and Argus; preparation and analysis of macro and micro economic and market data; and the creation of detailed investment committee books. The analyst will be expected to assist with all aspects of the due diligence processes for the acquisition of real estate assets and loans, and there may be extensive domestic travel. Candidates should possess strong quantitative skills, a high degree of motivation, the ability to multi-task and good interpersonal skills. In addition candidates should have a demonstrable interest in finance and real estate, with work experience in private equity, direct investing, investment banking or investment management.

• Preparing sophisticated cash flow models for underwriting and reporting on the viability of potential investment opportunities;
• Preparing detailed investment memoranda presentations;
• Supporting all analytical and transactional aspects of real estate acquisitions, including market research, due diligence, financing, structuring, negotiating and closing;
• Participate in all aspects of deal closings including reviewing documents, managing deliverables, etc.

Skills & Competencies
• BS/BA required;
• At least 1-3 years of applicable experience in investment banking, real estate and/or or private equity;
• Understanding of real estate finance / structuring;
• Experience with complex financial modeling / strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel required and Argus experience preferred; and
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
